I Hate Tumors

I remember reading a story in a magazine about a girl's fight against cancer. I remember Heather was the girl's name. Reading about her story made me realize how unexpected things happen and how it can happen to me, my family and any of my friends. Her friends and family were wearing a black shirt with ‘I Hate Tumors’ written on it; I remember her story as if I read it yesterday. Mostly I remember the prayer card the magazine published from her memorial...

"God saw you were getting tired,
And the cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you,
and whispered 'Come to me',

With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay,

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best."

God bless her and everyone who had a struggle against cancer... Hoping they won the fight. And if not; may they rest in peace...
